Every version of SamaraBoT is the result of careful design, testing, and real feedback from workshops. From the first prototype to a complete machine, every phase moved us forward — and the road below shows exactly where we started, where we are today, and where we are going next.
Phase 1 · 2023Completed
The first robotic arm
We designed and built the first functional prototype of the SamaraBoT arm from scratch, and proved the mechanical concept worked.
Mechanical design of the arm structure, joints, links, and gripper.
First stepper motor integration and manual calibration.
Working prototype that moved on three axes.
Phase 2 · 2024Completed
Electronics and control board
We designed a custom control board and wired the whole robot for reliable, repeatable motion.
Custom PCB for the three stepper drivers and the IR sensor.
Clean wiring harness made for students to assemble by hand.
IR sensor integration for automatic part detection.
Phase 3 · 2025Completed
SamaraBot Control app
The full control application launched — turning the arm from a mechanical prototype into a real educational tool.
Jog controls for every axis and the gripper.
Save & run positions with up to 50 teach points.
Live Motor Code window showing every command as real code.
Auto homing and safety stop system.
Phase 4 · 2026In progress
Production line & classroom kit
We are now preparing the conveyor-based production line and the full classroom pack for schools, libraries, and science centers.
Conveyor module with colour and IR sensors.
Pick-and-place sorting of real parts on a moving belt.
Classroom pack with lesson plans and worksheets.
Packaging and shipping preparation for the store launch.
Phase 5 · 2026Next up
Interchangeable tool heads
Designing the modular tool system that turns SamaraBoT from a single-purpose arm into a multi-tool fabrication machine.
Drawing head — pen holder for shapes and handwriting.
3D print head — extruder for small parts.
Laser engraving head — engraving and cutting on wood.
Wax melt head — casting and prototyping.
Phase 6 · 2027Planned
SamaraBoT Pro: mobility & remote control
Fitting SamaraBoT with a wheeled base so it can move to an object, pick it up, and bring it back — all controlled remotely from the app.
Wheeled base with its own motor controller.
Remote pick-and-place from across the room.
Community project library with shared routines.
Advanced code interface for older students.
